School of The Damned

SOTD is a year-long arts course run by and for its students. The school acts without a permanent residence, this year meeting in various cities across the UK once a month to host crits, lectures and discussions.

What is art school? What is a school? In the current economic climate, how can we afford to learn new skills? What can we do to reinvigorate arts education today?

School of the Damned presents 'Common Room', a week-long programme of free workshops, talks and screenings taking place at Guest Projects from Saturday 22nd to Saturday 29th July 2017.

A common room is a space to congregate and collaborate, experiment and elaborate, relax and rehabilitate. By pooling our interests, knowledge and skills, SOTD is knocking down the classroom walls to pitch a diverse and inclusive learning agenda. As artists-in-residence, SOTD attempt something like a localised, accessible alternative to traditional classroom environment.

Common Room is run by volunteers and any money made through contributions will go directly toward providing hospitality for them.
