Sean's House Hospice Appeal

A few words from Pamela, the Founder of Sean's House Hospice Appeal.

'I’m a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  I am going to  found a Hospice for babies with limited life expectancy.  I have had this project in mind for many years since losing a grandson to an hereditary condition just after his first birthday.  He died in hospital in very uncomfortable conditions both for him and his family.

This was brought home to me, once again, when my son-in-law died in a hospice after suffering for over a year from Oesophageal Cancer.  His last days were in complete contrast to those of my grandson and rekindled my desire to do something constructive to help families with young children who do not have long to live.

No family should suffer as my grandson and his family did and it is my ambition to open a Hospice in South East London where he spent his short life.  Somewhere which would offer rooms for the sick baby and family facilities alongside.'

The Fundraising Committee and Trustees have an initial target to raise £5000 to become a registered charity.  To this end we are undertaking various fund raising activities.

Thanks to the very positive response from friends and family, we are already more than half way to our goal, having raised over £3000.
