Sereniti is a registered charity based in Aberdeen Scotland. We are committed to holding the hands of parents and carers and families experiencing stress and financial hardship caused by caring responsibilities while caring for children and young people with additional needs. Our objective is achieved by addressing the emotional, practical, and social challenges faced by families caring for children and young people with additional support needs especially in the BAME community through multifaceted person- centred approaches such as Parents and carers peer networking, inclusive recreational activities, therapeutic workshops and programs, and other community-based initiatives.

The organisation helps to improve quality of life, building lasting social connections and empower parents and carers with the siblings (young carers) in Aberdeen City and Aberdeen shire.

Individual and Family Support: • 1-on-1 emotional support for parents and carers.

• Advice, guidance, and information about available resources.

• Help balancing caregiving duties with daily life responsibilities.

• Community and Social Activities:

• Support children and families in financial distress with vouchers, undertake welfare grant disbursement directly.

• We designed a workable Parents’ café to encourage peer networking.

• Recreational and inclusive playgroups for children.

• Musical therapy sessions and creative workshops.

• Community engagement programs and school-based initiatives.

• Skill Development Programs enhancing life skills and confidence for young people (ages 5–18).
