Scott's Grand also known as SG Catering & Events is owned/operated by Ragina Scott Saunders

Ragina continues the tradition of Gullah hospitality. Ragina is outgoing and self-driven with a personal passion for “helping people connect.” Through event management, catering, and operation of her mobile kitchen which serves several communities directly as well as being available for corporate events throughout the low country her heart really shows. Ragina is the owner of Scott’s Grand Catering & Events and the founder & Executive Director of Destiny Community Café, the area’s only Pay-What-You-Can café. The menu is local, farm to fork, organic as much as possible & always something for vegans/vegetarians. The café is operated from the Catering Kitchens located in Charleston & in North Charleston, SC.

The purpose of Destiny is to raise the level of awareness about food insecurity (hunger) in this country and reduce food waste. She also is the creator of the Soul Food Foundation and Gullah/Geechee Kitchen to bring soul food restaurants, chefs and cooks together to preserve the history and support the soul food industry.

Ragina has received an overwhelming amount of recognition & awards from her peers & the community over the years. She also heads the hospitality committee for several ministries, organizations & community outreaches.

Ragina is a native of Charleston – a true Gullah Geechee girl. She is a wife with great faith, mother of three, & a full-time grandmother of two little girls. Ragina’s daughters assist her with all things plant base & is publishing their first book together next year. Prior to opening launching the outreach, Ragina and her family found that they were not happy when their went out to other establishments for meals or to dine together and discovered that no one place could accommodate their dietary allowances. Ragina’s always respected her daughters choice to live a vegan lifestyle & knows how vital it is for vegans to be given the vegan ingredients. Ragina also enjoys creating and eating a good vegan meal but admits she’s not 100% Vegan. Ragina & her culinary team has cooked for vegan pop up’s, vegan summer kids camps, meal programs, & vegan catering jobs for over 10 years.
