Shoreham Wordfest
Shoreham Wordfest is an annual celebration of words and ideas, supporting local creativity and bringing national and international authors, drama, song and discussion together in our autumn festival, with something for all ages and all interests. The festival has grown significantly over our 9 years of operation and we are already planning for our 10th festival in 2020.
The 2019 Wordfest runs from 27 September to 13 October with Creative Writing workshops every weekend in September. Our main festival highlights include John Humphrys, Lynne Truss, Simon Armitage, Dorothy Koomson, Dallas Campbell and Polly Toynbee.
We also run an annual Celebrating Shakespeare weekend around 23 April, to mark the Bard's birthday, and occasional community and creative writing events throughout the year.
Shoreham Wordfest is a registered charity and runs entirely on voluntary effort. We are supported by Adur District Council and a number of local businesses.
