Steve built Smart Financial from scratch providing only Lifestyle Financial Planning. Full financial planning, every client, every time NO exceptions was the mantra in 2008 and it is the same now. As such he has extensive experience of delivering successful first meetings where clients agree to pay appropriate fees for a Lifestyle Financial Planning service that answers both the question that they had when they came to see him as well as all the questions that were uncovered in the meeting.
Steve has been involved in developing the skills of planners since 2009 having operated a successful graduate recruitment program and a mentorship program within Smart Financial where he focused on soft skills and let the CII / IFP and the other myriad of providers help develop their technical skills. He will be joined by other experienced practitioners on the training days to ensure that each delegate receives sufficient personal attention and feedback.
Steve’s career started by selling life assurance for City Financial Partners. Whilst the product solutions were far from ideal, the skills training was excellent and with a background in telesales for a double glazing company whilst still at school it’s safe to say his soft skills have been tested in the real world over many years!
Steve was an active member of the Manchester branch of the IFP, holding the position of Chair from 2009 until 2014. He is also regularly asked to speak at other IFP/ CISI branch meetings around the country and sits on the Financial and Legal Sector Panel. Steve is also a regular contributor to a wide range of feature articles on financial and money management related subjects across trade, local and national press
Steve is passionate about helping planners master the skills required to become really successful as lifestyle financial planners as his contribution to growth of the profession.
