Social Prescribing & Health Champions, EVA

The Social Prescribing & Health Champions activities at Enfield Voluntary Action (EVA) are designed to:

  • support the reduction in Health Inequalities in Enfield
  • help Enfield residents access activities and services that help them to overcome challenges that affect their health & wellbeing
  • be a listening ear in Enfield to understand the hyperlocal challenges and characteristics that affect peoples' lives
  • facilitate access to resources to address those challenges in a meaningful, sustainable and relevant way that local residents own, design, control

We do this by:

  • recruiting local people to be trained Health Champions
  • linking Health Champions into the activities of specialist Social Prescribing Link Workers and Health & Wellbeing Coaches who are working with GP surgeries
  • providing access to resources so that local activities and interventions can be developed that meet local need

We work independently of but in partnership with GP practices, Enfield Public Health, the NHS, LBE and other strategic partners.

We hold regular network events for anyone interested in this work to get involved.
