St John Rigby College

St John Rigby College is the Catholic Sixth Form presence in post-16 education in the Wigan and West Lancashire area. It is a co-educational open-access Sixth Form College which in 1972 became the first Roman Catholic Sixth Form College to be established in England. It takes its name from, and is dedicated to, the memory of a local man who was martyred at Southwark in 1600.

In April 2017 SJR was graded "Outstanding" by Ofsted and was named the Educate North Sixth Form College of the Year.
