St John the Baptist Parish Church, Beeston, Notts

St John's is the Church of England parish church which serves the people and town of Beeston, in Nottinghamshire.  We think of ourselves as a community of people, not just a building, but you'll find our beautiful church building in the centre of Beeston, on the green adjacent to the tram stop.  It's been a place of prayer and worship for centuries, where people have marked the significant milestones of their family and community lives, and sought to meet God, and share in God's work.

Welcome to our Eventbrite page.  This is where you can find out about special events at St John's;  our website and Facebook page both have details of our regular services and activities for children and families.

Our worship, theology and spirituality (what we believe, and how we relate to God and one another) are broadly in the modern catholic style - but if that's new to you, there are plenty of opportunitites to find out more about what that means.  We believe in creating spaces where people can encounter something of the mystery and love of God, we encourage one another as we ask questions, and make connections between faith in Jesus and our everyday lives, and we try to be open to different ways of seeing.

We're members of Inclusive Church (www.inclusive-church.org) and are exploring together what it means to be welcoming of - and a safe space for - people in all their diversity and difference.

Music is an important part of our worship and we count ourselves blessed to have the gifts of our choir, musical director and organist;  St John's is regularly used as a concert venue.

Do check out our website and Facebook page for more details of what we do and what we believe;  whatever brings you to St John's we hope you find a warm welcome and space for encounter with God, with community and with yourself.
