St Matthew's Bethnal Green

St Matthew’s Bethnal Green is a Church of England church, in the Diocese of London, and is the focus of an inclusive, living Christian community. It is the mother church of Bethnal Green where there have been people saying their prayers and celebrating life for more than 250 years.

People have come to St Matthew’s to pray, worship and celebrate their lives in good times, bad times and periods of uncertainty, difficulty and tragedy. The more established, the new and the passing through are all among us. We try to welcome and include each person who walks through the doors.
