The Stephen Lawrence Research Centre has a mission to extend the legacy of Stephen Lawrence and create impact on a local, national and global scale by being a hub of innovative, world leading research.

We work with intergenerational communities that engage academics, students and the general public in debating critical issues, generating ideas and raising awareness to shape and influence how we think about race and social justice in contemporary society.

The centre's research areas are the Histories and cultures of Black, Asian and racially minoritised peoples in the UK, the concept and practice of institutional racism, denials of justice and Racial Literacy and transformative education in practice.
