I’m writer, speaker and activist Tay Aly Jade (she/they). Passionate about people and the planet, my work explores themes of identity, wellbeing, and social and climate justice. I am of mixed Anishinaabe-European heritage and currently live in Treaty 1 territory.

I created BREATH / JAZZ / POETRY to foster a connective, creative space for artists of all kinds. Having performed my poetry on stage since 2018, I know how nerve-wracking it can be to get up on stage - and how rewarding it is to receive applause from a crowd that fully sees you. Now taking on the roles of event organizer and MC, my intent is to give back to the writing world what it has given me - and to trailblaze future elevated nights out in Winnipeg.
