The 100 Black Men of London
The 100 Black Men movement begun in New York City in 1963, when a concerned group of Black men came together to develop a local organisation to implement programmes designed to improve the quality of life in their community. These founding fathers included David Dinkins (who went on to become Mayor of New York), Dr Bill Haley and other community luminaries. The success of this initial organisation led to the establishment of other chapters all over the USA leading to the formation of the 100 Black Men of America, and the 100 Black Men International.
