The Chelsea Fringe Festival - the alternative Garden Festival

Now in its sixth year, the Chelsea Fringe (20 May - 4 June 2017) is an alternative garden festival primarily based in London, but with events across the UK and beyond. Last year we registered our 1000th event!  The Chelsea Fringe festival pushes the boundaries of what is usually considered appropriate in the sphere of gardening and garden/landscape design. It's an open-access platform that covers everything from guerrilla gardening, community growing initiatives, botanical art collaborations and spontaneous performance happenings. The majority of our events and activities are free and unticketed. We are the fringe festival to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show but we are entirely independent of the Royal Horticultural Society, which runs the Chelsea Flower Show and we operate with their blessing, aiming to highlight and encourage urban interaction with green spaces and community garden initiatives. The 2016 Fringe was a huge success, with some 350 community gardening activities, garden/art installations and happenings, walks, talks, food events, open days, exhibitions and performances across London and far beyond. We're looking forward to even more fun in 2017!
