The Eden Jar
The Eden Jar: Empowering Through Creativity and Connection
Founded in 2014 by Ngozi L. Obanye, The Eden Jar is a dynamic initiative dedicated to fostering creative, social, and entrepreneurial opportunities for individuals across the UK and internationally. Its mission is to enhance health and well-being by encouraging personal growth, creative expression, and meaningful connection.
Through a range of innovative projects, including creative writing, art workshops, wellness events, peer support groups and networking sessions, The Eden Jar empowers individuals to think creatively, share life experiences, and make positive lifestyle changes. Its social events serve as vibrant platforms for building relationships among individuals, community groups, charities, and businesses, nurturing growth and collaboration within communities.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, The Eden Jar received a grant to deliver online creative writing programs led by experienced facilitators. These initiatives: Write to Heal, Expressions, and a 30-day Book Writing Course were instrumental in reducing anxiety and stress, while promoting emotional resilience. Facilitators included Baden Prince, Abe Gibson, and Peaches Publications.
Ngozi L. Obanye, the visionary behind The Eden Jar, is a seasoned writer, certified coach (IAPC&M), and entrepreneur. Her journey has been marked by personal challenges, yet she continues to draw strength from her faith and creativity. Passionate about inspiring growth in others, Ngozi has been designing and delivering community-focused creative projects since 2009. Her event management portfolio spans literary showcases, fashion shows, business networking events, health fairs, and fundraising events.
With over two decades of writing experience, Ngozi has completed a creative writing course at Birkbeck College, attended a writers’ retreat in New York, and participated in numerous workshops. In 2017, she joined a professional writers’ group, where she was mentored by storyteller and poet Baden Prince, an experience that significantly shaped her development as both a writer and performer.
Ngozi is co-author of 100 Years Unheard: WW1 and the Afrikan Diaspora Woman, published by the African Heritage Writers Collective. With support from Peaches Publications, she also established The Eden Jar as a publishing platform. Its debut release, The Art of Joy, compiled by Ngozi herself, is now available on Amazon. She is currently working on her next book and helping to compile the second edition of The Art of Joy.
