The Green Fuse Artist collective

PRESS RELEASE

‘POWER UP’ AN EXHIIBITION BY THE GREEN FUSE COLLECTIVE AT THE SHOE FACTORY SOCIAL CLUB

4th – 15th July 2021

11- 5 Daily

The Shoe Factory Social Club, St Mary’s Work’s, St Mary’s Plain, Norwich

Power Up! is a real exhibition by six artists that make up the Norfolk based collective Green Fuse. Artists Viv Allen, Bev Broadhead, Ruth Brumby, Chloe Mandy, Liz McGowan, and Maria Pavledis set the stage. Power Up! is a rural protest. Its artists, from outside the city, coming to say their pieces at a time when things need to said, and connections need to be made. Green Fuse artists feel their natural habitat hurting and being hurt, see the injustice and want to connect with urban partners to provide a space for action, activity and talk in a safe yet connected way during this challenging time.

Artworks reflecting six individual and collective voices will set the scene for a way forward to use our creative energy as a means of communication and empowerment. The voices are distinct, but the connection is profoundly rooted in an archetypal mythology that challenges today’s relationship with our earth.
