The Hands Up Foundation
The Hands Up Foundation is a registered UK charity (reg no. 1156491) supporting humanitarian relief efforts responding to the crisis in Syria and on its borders. We provide a trusted route into Syria for funds raised and, crucially, their allocation can be monitored. With our partner organisations working on the ground and with careful consideration and research, we identify projects that we believe will have the maximum impact for those in need. Then we make sure that the necessary funds are raised to implement these projects.
Fundraising is a key piece to our jigsaw and we do this through a range of initiatives from the bold to the barmy. In particular we run the Syrian Supper Club (which in fact is where we began back in July 2012); the idea is that through food, a little entertainment and reminding people of some of the very good things that Syria has and knows, help can be sent to those who need it. Syrian Suppers now take place all over the world, from Wales to Singapore, and we still hold the original monthly Syrian Supper in London, UK.
We also hold other events throughout the year; we take inspiration from Syrian culture and introduce this to a new audience while raising monies. These can take the form of auctions, exhibitions, festivals, picnics, hoolies - anything really that grabs attention and raises awareness. Hummus, cocktails and music are often involved.
To date we have raised over £100,000.

The Hands Up Foundation was founded by four friends in April 2014 and has a growing number of wise trustees.
