I am passionate about cooking authentic Indian food. I was born in Mumbai when it was called Bombay. I completed a First Class BA History in Mumbai and went on to study MA Information Management from the University of West London. Previously I have worked as a Language Interpreter and a Librarian in London. I am driven by my Marathi origins in Mumbai and inspired by my parents, particularly my father who shared my passion for cooking excellent food. He believed in creating simple yet wholesome and delicious recipes at home. For as long as I can remember, my parents have shared their secrets of their culinary expertise with me, setting them within the context of the traditional culture and heritage. The highlights during the series were being praised for my cooking and the art of combining the spices in a unique manner by none other than MasterChefs themselves; John Torode and Gregg Wallace, their passion for great tasting food was infectious. They titled my mastery over the spices as 'Spice Angel' and 'Spice Magician'.
I enjoy teaching cooking and meeting new people; and try to inspire as many people as possible to cook great tasting and healthy food, just like my father did all those years ago.
