Unity School

Sevanti, has taught dance, yoga, massage, bodywork and healing since 1998.

With a degree in dance (having trained at the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance) and a number of diplomas in yoga, massage and various forms of bodywork and healing, Sevanti teaches globally at retreats, events and trainings.

She established the Unity School in 2002 and has taught her annual ‘Unity Yoga Teacher Training’ (now 300 hours!) and ‘Unity Holistic Massage’ diplomas for 23 years. She also runs various postgraduate Diplomas including her creation of ‘Unity Partner Yoga’, along with all Reiki levels including Mastership certification.

She opened two Unity Studios in Brighton in 2008 and 2012. She then opened The Unity Centre in September 2019. The Unity Centre is a not-for-profit CIC where yoga, dance, meditation, bodywork and the arts are made fully inclusive and accessible for all to enjoy.

Sevanti’s life long passion for dance (contemporary and ballet), as well as conscious and mindful movement, led her to become an Open Floor teacher. This practice is one that brings together all of her passions, offering a profound opportunity for deep awareness and healing for many aspects of our personal and collective lives, and our ultimate relationship with nature on the dance floor.

Sevanti teaches yoga regularly, including her longstanding Unity Yoga class for experienced practitioners, plus various ongoing therapeutic closed groups, including survivors of domestic violence/ sexual abuse, over 65s with limited movement, brain injury and memory loss, neurodivergent teens and young people and various other in-need groups.

She loves to hold her sessions in a sacred way, facilitating with safety and sensitivity. She also enjoys design and creating harmonious and peaceful spaces for her work (she refurbished and designed the old Turkish baths into The Unity Centre).

She provides yoga and movement one-to-ones and a vast range of holistic massage therapies.

Sevanti runs world wide workshops and retreats and enjoys co-producing events such as Open Floor’s Ground Floor Lab and supporting events like the Brighton Yoga Festival.

Sevanti lives in Lewes with her teen daughter, where they enjoy the beautiful nature of their surroundings. She continues to teach, train and travel, and is passionate about sustainability, equal rights and living a happy, peaceful and joyful life.
