University of Greenwich Green Roofs and Living Walls Centre

The Green Roofs and Living Walls Centre is part of the Landscape and Environmental Design Research Group, in the Department of Architecture and Landscape at the University of Greenwich. Our main focus of research involves Green Roofs, Living Walls, Urban Agriculture and Aquaponics.

Collectively, our multidisciplinary group has an array of expertise ranging from arid lands and combating desertification through planting, wetland eco-hydrology, Ecosystem Services, Life Cycle Analysis, product design and living wall design.

Our new research facilities at Stockwell Street are in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Greenwich and includes fourteen roof areas with over 4500 square metres of space, the largest multifunctional roof in Europe.
