With just a few words, and hoping that you will want to meet us in person, it’s a bit tempting to show off a little, if you like, in the hope that people will want to come and find us for real. Yet we think that “for real” is a much deeper exercise too.
For real, we are a group of people of mixed ages and mixed outlooks gathered together around our shared belief in a God who loves us, and joined by our faith in Jesus Christ; we love our church and all it seeks to be and to stand for; we get on well together, and often have a great time together; fun stuff, food and laughter are very much in the mix; we are interested in others locally, nationally and internationally, and we seek to do what we can in outreach and service together.
But for real, we are also a people who know that life is not always good, and faith is not always easy. Amongst us there is pain and grief, and as ‘your hurt is in my heart’ we seek to pray for and to care for one another; we have experienced brokenness and disappointment, yet we seek to receive God’s grace and to know God’s peace as we journey forwards.
Another church in its promotional video says something that we also believe and seek to live out – “at our church it is OK to be not OK” ... now that is for real!
And if any of that appeals to you, please come and find us for real yourself.
