XLP is a registered charity (No. 1101095) working to create positive futures for young people living in our inner cities and make a serious and sustainable impact upon poverty and educational failure. Started by Patrick Regan OBE in Peckham, South London, in 1996, XLP is working with children and young people in schools and communities across inner-London including Southwark, Lewisham, Greenwich, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Islington and Camden. Many of those we work with are struggling with a complex combination of issues such as family breakdown, educational failure, poverty, poor housing, and live in areas where gangs, crime and anti-social behaviour are common.
Working with over 1000 young people each week on a 1-2-1 and small group basis, and engaging with over 12,000 young people per year, XLP operates a range of projects that engage with young people in their schools, in their communities and with their families.
