Young Digital Makers is an umbrella community for Young Rewired State Soton and Soton Coder Dojo. We collaborate with various organisations and charities to bring fun opportunities in computer programming and digital making to young people under 18s in and around Southampton.
Young Rewired State is a worldwide community of young digital makers aged 18 and under who solve real world problems using freely available open data. Since 2009, we’ve met up once a year at our Festival of Code to create websites, apps, games, hardware hacks and algorithms. Now, we’re upping our game, and making it our mission to continue to find, nurture and support the next generation of tech talent all year round.
Coder Dojo is a global movement of free, volunteer-led, community based programming clubs for young people. At a Dojo, young people, between 7 and 17, learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games and explore technology in an informal and creative environment. In addition to learning to code attendees meet like minded people and are exposed to the possibilities of technology.
