Join Manchester United Legend David May and fellow Reds for a breathtaking experience at Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) as we watch the sun rise from the summit of Snowdon!
You will scale the iconic Welsh mountain from stars to sunrise, the event will start on Saturday 2nd August in the evening, with the trek commencing in the early hours of Sunday 3rd August.
There is a £125 registration fee which covers the following: Llanberis Community Centre is booked for registration and refreshments. You will receive a hot drink on arrival and breakfast after the walk. We will be accompanied by qualified and trained mountain guides from Walk Snowdonia. We also ask that you raise a minimum of £350 in sponsorship. All funds raised go to Manchester United Foundation. A donation to Snowdonia National Park is also included.
The Foundation is the associated charity of Manchester United and in the 2023/24 season positively impacted the lives of more than 42,000 young people. Our work – established as a lasting legacy to the Busby Babes – includes community outreach and educational programmes, using the power of football to encourage young people to build a better life for themselves.

Frequently asked questions
Registration for the event will take place in Llanberis Community Centre, where you have the chance to network with your fellow trekkers whilst grabbing a hot drink and some light snacks. You will receive a safety briefing from qualified Mountain Leaders before starting the walk at around midnight.
We are requesting that all hikers pledge to raise a minimum of £350. All funds raised will support the community work of Manchester United Foundation.
There are various pay and display car parks in Llanberis village where you will be able to park for the duration of the event.
A reasonable level of fitness will be required to take on the walk, however the larger group will be split into different smaller groups to accommodate different fitness levels. Each group will have a qualified Mountain Leader with them for support and guidance.
A full kit list will be provided ahead of the event with list of essential and suggested items for you to bring with you.
The maximum number of people that can take part in the walk is 100, which will be made up of fellow Reds from across the UK and beyond. There will also be Manchester United Foundation staff in attendance with some familiar faces too.
The walk on average takes 6-7 hours for the ascent and descent, and there will also be regular breaks throughout. Breakfast and drinks will then be served at the end of the walk in the Llanberis Community Centre.
