Inaugurated in 2012, the Edinburgh Parkinson’s Lecture has become an annual event, attracting audiences of around 300. The Lecture serves to inform and educate the public on progress in the fight against Parkinson’s by attracting internationally renowned experts to review recent progress.
The 2016 Edinburgh Parkinson’s Lecture will be given by Professor Bastiaan Bloem, consultant neurologist, Department of Neurology, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, the Netherlands. Together with Dr. Marten Munneke, he developed ParkinsonNet. You can download a fact sheet about ParkinsonNet by clicking on PNet Factsheet
In a break with tradition, the 2016 lecture will take place in the Chancellor’s Lecture Theatre on the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary site. The date of the lecture is October 11th 2016.
The lecture is entitled The Future of Parkinson Care
Admission to the lecture is free but by ticket only. Tickets are available through Eventbrite on a first-come first-served basis.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
You are encouraged to use public transport if at all possible as parking is restricted and expensive. The Infirmary site is well served by Lothian Bus services 7, 8, 21, 24, 33 and 49. The main bus hub on campus is close to the East entrance to the hospital, but there are other more convenient stops for some services close to the West entrance to the hospital and the entrance to the Chancellor’s Building.
