About this course
Macramé is a relaxing and therapeutic craft, as it keeps your hands busy and gives your mind time to rest.
You will learn the basic knots needed to get started with macramé and by the end of the course you be able to complete your own project.
There is no previous experience necessary to complete this course, just a desire to have a try.
You will receive a list of materials once you book the course; cord will depend on the final project; but parcel string is good to practice and learn with.
During the course, you will learn how to create various small macrame projects through using: square, larks head, half-knots, gathering, overhand and double half-hitch knots.
We will cover how to calculate the requirements of cord for a project and gain an understanding of different Macrame equipment.
Within the course learners will gain an understanding of;
- Macrame equipment
- Macrame knots
Resources required by attendees
- Macrame cord - require 3 or 5mm cord
- Alternative – Piping cord, Parcel String is great to practice with, alternative macrame cord, or jute cord
