Description

Get the most out of your DSLR and start shooting like the professional

It's hard to take a bad picture with a modern DSLR, but as long as you rely on your camera's automatic settings, it's just as tough to take a great one. Join renowned Guardian photographer Andy Earl for a jargon-busting masterclass that will put you in control of the manual settings and put a whole new world of tricks at your fingertips.

Over the course of this entertaining, highly practical weekend, you'll master the technical functions of your camera and the fundamental rules of lighting, colour and composition. You'll also learn the basics of post-production and picture editing through a live Photoshop demonstration, then put your new skills into practice on a location assignment, during which you'll receive tailored feedback from Andy to help you develop your individual style – and confidence – to get results you can be proud of.
