Event Details

An interactive training workshop to understand your responsibilities and the best practice for tackling hidden labour exploitation in the workplace.

Designed for:

Those with a policy and operational responsibility to tackle worker exploitation including: Employer and labour provider HR and Line Managers, social compliance auditors and NGOs.

Food growers and producers may wish to attend together and work in collaboration with their labour providers and/or trade union/employee representatives.

Overview

Workshops will be led by experienced practioners from the Association of Labour Providers, the Gangmasters Licensing Authority and Migrant Help.

  3. What should I do? Checklist for employers and labour providers
  4. Monitoring to prevent and uncover hidden worker exploitation
  5. Implementing good practice to identify and deter hidden labour exploitation
  6. Action plan on discovering potential worker exploitation
  7. Working with the Investigating and Enforcement Authorities
  8. How to support potential victims of trafficking and exploitation

Workshop Cost

The cost is £125 (+VAT) per delegate. This is non-refundable for cancellations less than seven days before the workshop.

There is one free delegate place provided per organisation for ALP Members, Charities, NGO (Non Governmental Organisations) and Project Sponsor own label suppliers. N.B. This is one place only per organisation, not per workshop or per site. Please call 01276 919090 if you are booking a free delegate place.

Stronger Together

A multi-stakeholder initiative aiming to reduce human trafficking, forced labour and other hidden third party exploitation of workers.

Stronger Together provides guidance, resources and a network for employers, labour providers, workers and their representatives to work together to reduce exploitation.

Lead development partners for Stronger Together are the Association of Labour Providers, the Gangmasters Licensing Authority and Migrant Help.
Project sponsors are the Co-operative Food, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose.
Supporting partners include Anti-Slavery International, British Frozen Food Federation, British Growers Association, British Retail Consortium, Crimestoppers, The Food and Drink Federation, Forced Labour Monitoring Group, International Organization for Migration (IOM), Recruitment and Employment Confederation, the Salvation Army and SEDEX.
