The Royal Institution (Ri) is one of London’s foremost cultural hubs. The Mayfair-based Institution was founded in 1799 as a venue for scientists to advance their work through discussion and share their findings with the wider public.

The Royal Institution hosts 70 public events per year, attracting 16,000 attendees. It chose Eventbrite to make self-service ticketing easier, for both event organisers and attendees.

We spoke to Martin Davies, Public Programme Manager at the independent charity, to find out how Eventbrite is helping this famous Institution bring its ticketing needs firmly into the 21st century and create a ticketing service which is fully integrated with its Salesforce database.

The four main reasons the Royal Institute chose to partner with Eventbrite:

1. Eventbrite’s discovery platform

2. Mobile ticketing options for attendees

3. Simple integration with Salesforce

4. Easy account reconciliation

More about the Ri:
Some of the world’s most ground breaking scientific discoveries have been made and announced at The Royal Institution. They include the discovery of the electron and ten chemical elements including sodium and calcium. The existence of photography was also announced at the Ri.

A total of 15 scientists connected with the Institution have been awarded Nobel Prizes and the venue has hosted some of Great Britain’s key influencers within science and wider culture including Florence Nightingale, Charles Darwin, HG Wells, Roger Bannister, Professor Brian Cox and Grayson Perry to name but a few.
