7) Sleep is for wimps
When you have a million and one things to do, there’s simply no time for sleep. You haven’t had a full eight hours since 2008, but, hey ho, you can sleep when you’re dead right? Now, where’s that coffee…
At the end of a hectic day, there’s just time to join the delegates for a quick drink at the hotel bar. But as they tuck into the free cocktails with gay abandon, you still have emails to reply to and will be up at 6am to help co-ordinate departures. You direct them to the nearest nightclub and slip off to your room.
Organising a successful event takes teamwork and you’re lucky to have some great people around you. You spend more time with your colleagues than you do with your friends and family, but the camaraderie makes it all worthwhile.

When you’ve put your all into organising an event, there’s nothing like the satisfaction you feel when it all comes off. Yes, the hours are long and the pay could be better, but the glowing delegate and client feedback is a wonderful reward. With one event over, you now have a few days to relax before it all starts again…
