At Eventbrite, we understand how important social media can be in promoting your events. That’s why we’re making it easier than ever to spread the word on one of the hottest social platforms: TikTok.

Organisers can now publish posts promoting their events to TikTok directly from Eventbrite in just a few clicks. Our AI-powered Share on Social workflow instantly drafts engaging posts based on organisers’ event details, helping you create compelling messages and save time on content creation.

Don’t think TikTok is right for you or your community? As the fastest-growing social media platform, it allows Eventbrite organisers to reach millions of users around the globe, particularly Gen Z.

Users are hungry to discover new experiences on the platform, too. In fact, 40% of consumers now use TikTok to search for their interests and find new information, according to a recent Adobe survey, while 64% of Gen Zers say they have used TikTok as a search engine.

Top tips for promoting your event on TikTok

Make social-first video

You don’t need a videographer or video team—TikTok users prefer to see content that’s more organic, human, and relatable.

Use keywords

When you’re adding text, voiceover, or captions to your video, be sure to include keywords! This can include your location, the date, the type of event (dance parties, paint nights, etc), and, if relevant, time of year or key moments (summer, New Year’s Eve, etc). This helps TikTok surface your content in search results and in the For You page to make sure your content reaches the people it would be relevant to.

Lean into FOMO

In your content, show off what your events are all about and what sets your event series apart to make your audience feel a sense of excitement and FOMO.

Prioritise the first 3 seconds

Attention spans are getting shorter and shorter, and the For You page is endless. You need to capture your audience’s attention within the first few seconds to keep them from scrolling past you. Use text-on-screen, strong visuals, or an enticing hook to earn viewers’ attention.

Make your content shareable/savable

Shares and saves are important engagements on TikTok, and are much more meaningful than just a “like”. As event creators, you will naturally have shareable or savable content, as viewers will be inclined to invite their friends out to a cool event, or will bookmark it for later.

Leave an impression

Make sure your video leaves a strong enough impression that your viewer feels compelled to take action after watching it, whether that be following you on the platform or buying a ticket to your event.

Don’t be afraid of the camera

With viewers increasingly looking for more organic, human, and relatable content, there is also a ton of interest in the people behind the scenes and their processes. Consider sharing your story as an event creator, taking your audience into your event planning process, and letting them get to know you on a more personal level.
