Industry Projects

ASEI (African STEM Education Initiative) is a social enterprise based in Fort Portal, Uganda. ASEI was founded in 2020 to improve capacity for innovation in Africa through community science and technology projects. To date ASEI works across STEM Education by promoting digital skills among young people in high schools, provision of safe drinking water in schools and healthcare facilities through UV-C water purification and piloting of insulated solar electric cookers. Born from within ASEI, indEx is a platform that powers collaboration between industry and education providers to spur innovation and creativity within industry in Africa and provide fulfilling work-integrated learning opportunities to students by enabling them to work on industry crafted, real world challenges. indEx hosts industry led events to enable knowledge sharing with academia, but also to provide opportunity for achieving scalable innovation.
