Intro to Data Analysis with Python (Spring 2020) (3) online

TheAdvanced Computing Research Centre (ACRC)has helped establish Bristol University as a world-class centre for research and teaching in advanced computing systems.We deliver high quality training in advanced computing skills to our University's researchers, provide hundreds of millions of research computing core hours across our supercomputers and manage Petabytes of research data.

Advanced Computing Research Centre (ACRC)

This workshop will give a basic introduction to the numerical and data analysis tools available in Python, particularly focusing on:
<UL>
<LI> Pandas for time-series analysis,</LI>
<LI>NumPy for fast numerical calculations on large data sets </LI>
<LI>and Matplotlib for publication-quality graphs and plots. </LI>
</UL>
It will also introduce the Jupyter Notebook as a way of interleaving prose with your code as a form of 'literate programming'.
Prerequisites: This workshop will be based on Python and you should already have a good working knowledge of Python or have completed the <A HREF="https://github.com/chryswoods/siremol.org/blob/master/chryswoods.com/beginning_python/README.md" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">'Beginning Python'</A> and <A HREF="https://github.com/chryswoods/siremol.org/blob/master/chryswoods.com/intermediate_python/README.md" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">'Intermediate Python'</A> courses.
You will need to have Anaconda Python 3.7 already installed.
