Left Hand Giant Run Club Movie Nights : CABOOSE

Welcome back to the LHGRC!Since Covid some things have stayed the same and some things are a little bit different, so here’s a quick explanation of what to expect...- We will meet at 6:00pm for a 6:30pm start, just outside the LHG taproom (Wadehurst Industrial Estate Unit 3 st Philips Road BS2 0JE).-There will be a short introduction which will include an explanation of key elements of the route and who your run group leaders will be.-There will usually be 3 routes to choose from. These will be a 10k, 8k and 6k distance.-Anyone of any running ability is welcome, but if you feel comfortable completing a 5k please can you choose from the two longer runs.-Runs are subject to change but will be released on the social channels at least a day before.-Runners will tend to run at their own pace, so we recommend you buddy up (socially distanced), stick with the run leader, or familiarise yourself with the route that we will publish on our social media. Any questions please contact us directly, so we can send over the strava map.-Once all groups are back from the run, the tap room will be open for us to have a socially distanced beer, either inside or outside.(bag drop and toilets are available).-Please note, you will be expected to social distance throughout the run and when we are in the tap room. Please make sure to wash your hands and use the antibacterial hand gel provided (or bring your own). Whilst at the tap room face masks are recommended  inside the venue.-As part of the guidance and advice of the government we will need to collate basic details of our attendees, should we need to pass these on to track and trace. We will do this using the details you provide upon booking a ticket.-Please do not attend if you feel at all unwell, particularly if you have Covid related symptoms.A high temperatureA new continuous coughA loss or change of your sense of taste or smellOr if any of your household have these symptoms.-If you have any questions, you can reach us on any of our social media channels.Thankyou!

Meet Tom Reynolds for an evening of trail runs, great adventures, and drinks at the brewery.Optional trail run 9km (departs 6:15 pm sharp) Film only- arrive by 7:15 pm About the film A story about running, mental health &amp; one person’s search for sanctuary in one of the harshest environments on earth.Caboose is set against the backdrop of an unsupported, unsanctioned 500km team relay running race across the Atacama Desert called The Speed Project.For Tom Reynolds – a self-confessed slow runner from Manchester, UK – it reflects a reckless desire for adventure following a tumultuous 12 months full of loss, grief, and mental health struggles.Is entering an underground event based around speed, created by maverick race organizer Nils Arend, the perfect next step towards healing and recovery?Or, will a knee-jerk decision to attempt to run 500km across the driest desert on earth, surrounded by high-speed trucks and hostile police, end in tears?--A £5 ticket will get you:<ul><li>A 1/3 of beer from Left Hand Giant after the run or before the film</li><li>Optional trail run 9km</li><li>Donation to CALM Charity ( https://www.thecalmzone.net/) Plan of action for the evening:</li></ul>RUNNERS The taproom will be open from 5:30 pm We will have our little pre-run chat around 6:00 pm and we will aim to head out for 06:15 pm (ish) The 10KM mix terrain trail run is a chilled route with a break in the middle to re-group- you will need a HEAD TORCH for this run.
