An engaging community event focused on the theme "Reclaiming Narratives." This free event features a diverse lineup of speakers and is dedicated to celebrating Black History Month with thought-provoking discussions and performances.Overview of Speakers:Our forum will feature a broad spectrum of experts discussing topics such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (EDI), sports, health, well-being, intersectionality, and entrepreneurship. Adedamola Layade, CEO &amp; Superintendent Pharmacist at Layanson Pharma Ltd, will provide insights into healthcare management. Lloyda During, a leader in EDI, will discuss strategies for fostering inclusivity. Sheriden Akintayo, a social worker and social justice advocate, will share her experiences supporting marginalised communities and mental health. Charles Idowu, a healthcare leader, will focus on diversity and holistic care approaches. Chipo Kureya, an actress and creative, will share her insights on "Rest," exploring its importance for well-being. Kolade Adedoyin, a physiotherapist and rugby player, will offer perspectives on health and sports. Tobi Orolu, leader of the youth anti-racism group in Weston-super-Mare and award winner for his agency’s impactful work, will also be speaking. Ian Noah, Chair of the charity Race Equality North Somerset (RENS), will talk on the theme of Reclaiming Narratives and the charity's role in the community. Korede Adedoyin, founder and CEO of The Vemoye Foundation, will discuss her work in increasing STEM education access for West African students and her role as a social entrepreneur. Louise Hill-Davis, co-host of the event, will facilitate Q&amp;A sessions and ensure the forum runs smoothly, while Jason Selormey, co-host and leader of Weston College’s Global Majority Group, will guide discussions and enhance the event experience. Additional speakers from across the country will also be confirmed soon.
