<h3>一齊加入我哋嘅香港人互助谷! (伯明翰)👋</h3> 💪我哋嘅香港街坊互助谷就係為你而設，俾喺呢度英國嘅香港人可以傾吓，分享你嘅經歷，聽吓其他人嘅故事，一齊學習，互相支持！ 一齊面對新生活嘅挑戰！✍️呢個小組最少一共有6節，每月既其中一個星期二晚上，希望建立持續穩定嘅社區支援，所以你地既持續參與非常重要！📆伯明翰小組日期: 10月15 日、11月12日、 12月10日、 2025年1 月14日 、2月11日、3 月11日(每月既第二個星期二晚上(十月除外) 8:00-9:00。💬 呢個小組主要由BARNARDO's 香港人義工帶領討論，最後，我哋期望街坊小組可以由當區參加者獨立帶領同協調，達到自我運作嘅目標！

<h3>Let's Join Our Peer Support Group for Hong Kongers in Birmingham!👋</h3><h3> </h3>💪 Our Hong Kong Peer Support Group is designed just for you! It's a space for Hong Kongers living in the UK to chat, share your experiences, listen to others’ stories, learn together, and support each other as we face the challenges of a new life!✍️ This group will have a minimum of 6 sessions, meeting on a Tuesday evening each month. We aim to build a consistent and stable community support system, so your continuous participation is very important!📆 Birmingham group dates: October 15th, November 12th, December 10th, January 14th, February 11th, and March 11th, 2025 (Second Tuesday of every month, except October), 8:00-9:00 PM.💬 This group will primarily be facilitated by Barnardo's Hong Kong volunteers. Ultimately, we hope that the group will become independently led and coordinated by the local participants, achieving the goal of self-sustainability!

<h3>This group mainly supported by the volunteers, so what is the Role of Barnardo's organisaiton?</h3> Barnardo's will provide a platform, support and oversight to ensure the Peer Support Group operates effectively and safely:<ul><li>Guidance and Training: Barnardo’s will offer initial and ongoing training for volunteers, ensuring they have the skills needed to facilitate the group effectively.</li></ul><ul><li>Safeguarding and Risk Management: Barnardo’s will remain available to support volunteers in identifying and managing safeguarding concerns. Volunteers can refer any issues beyond the scope of the group to Barnardo’s HK Helpline.</li></ul><ul><li>Helpline Support: Participants can also reach out to Barnardo’s HK Helpline for further assistance if they require individual or more specialized support.</li></ul><ul><li>Long-term Goal: Barnardo’s aims to empower the community, allowing the group to be independently led by volunteers and participants over time, with Barnardo’s available as a support resource.</li></ul> <h3>What is Barnardo's Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities?</h3><h3> </h3>The volunteers facilitating the group are committed to ensuring a supportive and respectful environment in line with Barnardo’s core values:<ul><li>Facilitator Role: Volunteers are there to guide the flow of the conversation, ensuring that the group remains focused, respectful, and inclusive. They are not counselors but will ensure that participants feel supported.</li><li>Maintaining Boundaries: Volunteers are responsible for setting and maintaining the group’s boundaries and ensuring that all participants adhere to the established rules.</li><li>Confidentiality: Volunteers will uphold confidentiality, ensuring that no information shared within the group is disclosed outside, unless there are safeguarding concerns.</li><li>Safeguarding: Volunteers are trained to recognize when a participant may be at risk and, in such cases, will follow Barnardo’s safeguarding protocols to provide the necessary support.</li><li>Encouraging Peer Support: Volunteers will promote peer-led discussions and ensure that the group evolves to be participant-driven over time.</li><li>Peer Group Coordination: Volunteer might act as the coordinator of the peer group, facilitating communication and supporting the group's overall organization.</li></ul>
