Forth Environment Link (FEL) began as the Kippen Nature Club in 1989 with the aim of teaching children about biodiversity and nature. In response to community need and interest, the organisation grew in both mandate and geography, expanding to include adult education and demonstration projects. In 2005 the organisation reconstituted as Forth Environment Link - a company limited by guarantee with charitable status, serving three local authority areas – Stirling, Clackmannanshire and Falkirk. In 2008 Forth Valley Food Links merged with FEL, bringing an additional focus on sustainable local food production and consumption. In 2012 FEL took over the hosting of Cycle Stirling bringing a new cycling focus to our work. In 2013, Stirling Cycle Hub started operating from Stirling Train Station enhancing FEL’s cycling provision. What to expectEva Rainey from Business Energy Scotland - Offer expert, impartial &amp; free business energy advice for SMEs funded by the Scottish Government. They also provide free business support to help you boost profits, reduce carbon and tackle climate change. Eva Rainey, Assistant Programme Manager will outline the support available for community groups from the Scottish Government, along with some insight into the key areas to tackle with typical costs and savings.Lilian Delaney, Local Partnership Officer from Home Energy Scotland - Home Energy Scotland can offer free and impartial energy advice for householders on energy advice and on funding support to make energy saving improvements in their homes, helping to reduce carbon and tackling climate change as well as making homes comfortable and warmer to live in.Lilian Delaney Partnership Officer will outline the support available for community groups or other organisations when developing funding applications which can support residents in the local community in their own homes.Gemma Murray from Local Energy Scotland - manage CARES - the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme. CARES supports communities across Scotland to engage with, participate in and benefit from the energy transition to net zero emissions. Gemma Murray – Local Development Officer for Glasgow and central Scotland will deliver information about advice and support available through Local Energy Scotland and the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES).FEL Scotland Bike Library - We offer a free 30 day bike hire on a range of different bikes for those living in the Forth Valley area, learn more about this scheme from our active travel officers. 🌍 Be the change! 🌍 See you there!This event is run by the Forth Valley Climate Action Hub at FEL Scotland.
