Film ScreeningDirector: SIMON CHAMBERS | 62 minsQ&amp;A with Shahanara Begum and Simon Chambers | 30 minsModerator: Nora Meyer Shahanara, a Muslim girl from Paddington, is changing from pink hot pants into a sari to meet her husband at the airport. She’s only met him once before, when she was married in a union arranged by her Bangladeshi family. Shahanara only agreed to the marriage to try and heal old wounds with her father, who had banished her from her family for her Western ways. Meanwhile her devout Muslim sister Hushnara is being prepared for her own arranged marriage, something that at 19 she doesn’t feel at all ready for. Director Simon Chambers was a care worker in the community and is a long-standing friend of the family. His personal, humorous and affectionate film explores the universal theme of love and generational conflict between the daughters’ ideas and their parents. Contains strong language.
