Staffordshire County Council are consulting with the Residential and Nursing Care Home market ahead of publishing a tender opportunity in Autumn 2024.The Council are seeking to recommission residential and nursing Care Home Services for both older people (aged 65+) and working age adults (aged 18 - 64) which include people with the following support needs: learning disabilities, mental health and physical disabilities.The Council continues to seek your valuable input into the new commissioning model. The aim of the recommission is to drive a fundamental change in practice which focuses on achieving people's health and wellbeing outcomes for the short and long term.The Council wants to work with Providers who are committed to enabling people to access all the opportunities available to them to live a rich and meaningful life.Your input as Care Home Providers is essential. Your expertise and experience of delivering services locally and in other areas will support us to develop a service specification, delivery mechanism and contract monitoring/quality assurance process that is effective, meaningful and puts people at the centre of all we do.Following on from a series on engagement events in February and July 2024, the Council have integrated your feedback into its proposals and would like to share with you the proposed pricing strategy, key points from the service specification, procurement model, including the impact of the new Procurement Act 2023, and timeframes, providing a further opportunity for providers to give additional feedback. Please note all sessions across the different locations will include the same information and topics of discussion.In order to enable as many providers as possible to attend one of these consultation sessions, please limit your business's attendance to one session with a maximum of 2 people per organisation.We suggest wherever possible, providers attend the session in the district in which they are registered and deliver a service. Please ensure attendees are working as a minimum at Registered Manager level.
