Imagine a room full of coaches, discussing the ideas, topics, and questions that interest them the most - that’s the experience of Coach Camp.

Who is it for?

We become open and curious when we try new things. 
If you are a willing student of coaching looking to boldly explore new ideas, then Coach Camp is for you.

Question 3

How do I put a topic idea forward?

Accepted Answer

If you have an idea that has been on your mind for a while, a topic you want to discuss, or even a question you want to put to the group, we want to hear from you.

Coach Camp isn't about perfect pitches -  it's about thinking aloud and learning together. Share your thoughts and experiences.

Question 4

How do we decide the agenda?

Accepted Answer

Whether it’s an idea, a topic to discuss, or a question that you want to put forward, offerings are posted up on the Agenda Wall - one sheet per topic - as many topics as you'd like. Once all are posted, the group votes on sessions of interest. The most popular become breakout rooms.

Question 5

Who leads the breakout sessions?

If your topic is chosen, you will be given the chance to facilitate the breakout room. Don’t worry if you have never led a breakout room before. Now’s your chance to practice.

If you can:

Introduce the topic.

Keep the conversation going.

Ask “Are we done?”  Then you can facilitate a group.

What do I get for attending?

In systems thinking they call it ‘“getting to the beat,” in coaching we call it “meeting people where they are,” and here at Coach Camp we call it “dropping your shield.”

As Coach John Wooden said (paraphrasing) “I don’t want great athletes, I want people to be themselves.”

What do I need to bring?

You don’t need to prepare anything, you just need to show up.

Topics and the agenda are decided on the day, in the moment.

However, if you have a topic you’d like to discuss, an idea to share, or a question to ask, feel free to bring it along.

Who else is going?

Accepted Answer

Coach Camp is open to all backgrounds, specialties, and experience levels. There are no keynote speakers or special guests, the diversity of perspectives is what makes it.

Whoever is in the room, is exactly who needs to be in the room, as the value comes from peer-to-peer learning and discussion.

What is the goal of Coach Camp?

To change how coaches interact with each other - no polished speeches, or well-rehearsed lectures, this is a place of practice.

We are not short on information, experts, or advice, but when do we get the chance to talk about where we are now with our coaching?

Coach camp is a place where like-minded people come together to advance their skills and talk about the craft of coaching.
