BLS ISSF3 Public Engagement Co-production Award: Learning event

Carl Smith is the Engagement Officer for the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences.Carl provides advice and guidance on all aspects of public engagement and the application process for Proof-of-Concept funding for the College Wellcome Trust ISSF3 award.Carl is a graduate of the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement’s (NCCPE’s) Engage Academy and has regular contact with the cohort and South and South West ISSF teams to identify best practice and shared experiences.

BLS Wellcome Trust ISSF3 Public Engagement Co-production Award

Funding, training and learningStaff from the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences, Cardiff University are invited to an online learning event, taking place on Tuesday 12 May 2020 (10:00-11:30). The learning event will enable potential candidates to find out more about the new BLS Wellcome Trust Public Engagement Co-production Award scheme which will fund the co-production of projects up to £15k (per project). <a href="https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/colleges/biomedical-life-sciences/research-and-innovation/institutional-strategic-support-fund/current-opportunities/co-production-award" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/colleges/biomedical-life-sciences/research-and-innovation/institutional-strategic-support-fund/current-opportunities/co-production-award</a>Funded projects will develop, deliver and evaluate a science or health research exhibit or experience with a defined public community or group(s). The outputs developed will be focused on the key societal science and health challenges of current and future generations as indicated by the aims and goals of H2020, UKRI, Wellcome Trust and the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act (Wales). The learning event will enable you to:<ul><li>Discuss the focus of the award</li><li>Develop ideas for proposals</li><li>Ask questions and gain advice</li></ul>The event will also explore the defined public community or group(s) you intend to work with (and why).Full details will be provided upon registration.
