Norfolk Record Office (NRO) collects and preserves unique archives relating to the history of Norfolk and makes them accessible to people all over the world.The events listed here are run from our base at The Archive Centre, Martineau Lane, Norwich.   Free parking is available at County Hall for Archive Centre users. a series of 3 workshops on poor relief in Norfolk

A series of 3 workshops Wednesdays 29 January, 5 February and 12 February.This course looks at the history of poor relief, focusing on the old poor law system, the introduction of workhouses and the end of the workhouse system in Norfolk. Each session will include an introduction to the topic, a practical exercise and a chance to look at a range of related original documents.
