The course is equally relevant for those at early career stage as well as more experienced professionals wanting to ensure success when moving to higher level roles. COURSE SUMMARY:Is your CV working as hard as it can to promote you to potential employers and clients? Are you meeting competency expectations when completing an online application form?It’s very easy to think one size fits all, but these days you need to be able to tailor applications to the needs of the employer or client so you get noticed in the recruitment process. As well as going through some key areas to prepare for interview, this workshop will provide you with tools and tips to upgrade your CV and make your application match what an employer / Head Of Department is looking for in the ideal candidate. OBJECTIVES:Learn how to focus your CV to the needs of recruitersUnderstand competence when completing application forms and covering lettersEssential interview preparation BY THE END OF THE WORKSHOP YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO:Refine your CV to use it in a more targeted wayDemonstrate competence for job description criteriaHave increased confidence for interviews WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING / PREPAREWorkshop attenders will need to bring an electronic copy of a current CV to the session for use in a practical task. It would also be useful to scan current job vacancies in advance so you have an example of a role you would be interested in applying for in the future. TRAINERKaren Pimbley is Head of Arts Management training at RWCMD [Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama] where she specialises in arts leadership, training post-graduate students in all areas of theatre management. Her approach to training and preparing people for the world of work has ensured her graduates are highly sought after in industry. Prior to working in conservatoire training, Karen enjoyed a career working in live performance and has extensive experience in production touring, marketing and PR and senior management. Karen was a director of UK Theatre for four years and is also a researcher, currently working with the Welsh Government undertaking an artform review in Wales. She has been an Equity member throughout her career. Karen has been an Equity member throughout her career and has been a mentor, trainer and a beneficiary of training from CULT Cymru for many years.
