Friday 29th of May12:00 pmonline eventFREEIf you want a thing well done, do it yourself.This is the first of our Peer-to-Peer Support Group Sessions. As we&#x27;ve had a lot of new artists sign up in the last couple of weeks, this will also be our first Meet Up: an opportunity to meet each other and discuss our priorities for the network.About this session:Brighton Artists Network is a members-led organisation so we would love to hear all of your views and opinion! But there&#x27;s no pressure to participate: you can just join to meet other members and find out more about what we do!We have come up with some key areas of work to brainstorm together:<ul><li>Advocacy: Artists in Brighton lack of a collective voice, something which has become particularly apparent in the current crisis. How could Brighton Artists Network provide that platform and bring our voices to the table?</li></ul><ul><li>Artists taking the lead: Artists are inherently creative and have a lot of value to bring to our communities. At a time like this, we feel artists should be at the front of this recovery. How do we add true community value and this time and beyond it?</li></ul><ul><li>Peer-to-peer support: This is a really hard time to make work. What do we need to keep being creative? What can we do to help each other through this period and beyond?</li></ul><ul><li>Projects and collaborations: Collaboration is so important to keeping our practices fresh and developing. How could Brighton Artists Network provide opportunities for artists who wouldn’t normally cross paths to work together? What could be our first project?</li></ul>Prep:You don&#x27;t have to prepare anything ahead of the session, but if you want to bring anything else to the table, please do! We&#x27;ll have a bit of time at the beginning to add any other items to the agenda.We also thought it would be nice for all of those partaking to send us an image of their work and a link to their website / online portfolio. We could then put them together in a list to share with everyone partaking. You obviously don&#x27;t have to, but if you want to you can send this to info@brightonartistsnetwork.co.uk before Friday. About Peer-to-Peer Support Group Meetings:Join others in developing opportunities for artists, designed by artists: plan group exhibitions, fundraising opportunities and projects that support our community.These events are an opportunity to come together with other artists and plan projects that provide the group with visibility, development and income raising opportunities.Projects might arise from one of our <a href="https://brightonartistsnetwork.wordpress.com/our-programme-2/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Brighton Brainstorm sessions</a>, or you might want to bring something to the table yourself. Projects can range from group exhibitions through to residencies, publications and fundraising opportunities.
