This scandal involved the wrongful detention and deportation of dozens of Caribbean immigrants, rooted in laws shaped over decades with a pronounced racial bias aimed at reducing the non-white population in the UK.In 2018, then-Prime Minister Theresa May apologised to those mistreated and subsequently established a compensation fund for affected individuals. However, this fund has faced ongoing criticism for being difficult to access and exceedingly slow.This lecture, led by Mr Henry Wong, will delve into the origins and current impact of the Windrush scandal, offering insight into the history of British immigration law from the 11th century to present day.黃浚滔律師黃律師分別於 2014、2018 及2024年成為香港執業律師、英格蘭及威爾斯執業律師及愛爾蘭註冊律師。現時他為香港翁余阮律師行及英國Jay Binglam Solicitors 和 Perilli &amp; Ho Solicitors的顧問律師，為客戶處理香港及英國住宅及商業物業買賣、民事及刑事訴訟、商業及合約事宜、家庭糾紛、遺囑及遺產處理、國際公證及中國公證等各種事項。Mr. Henry WongHenry Wong qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong, England and Wales, and Ireland respectively in 2014, 2018 and 2024 and he is currently a practising Consultant Solicitor of Yung, Yu, Yuen &amp; Co.
