NDC Oslo takes place on 8-12 June 2020 - and this year, NDC Oslo will be completely online event. All the same great workshops, sessions, speakers, parties and conversations you&#x27;ve come to expect from NDC Conferences, but in an online format.Between now and June, we&#x27;re running a series of warmup meetups for NDC Oslo. Join our host Dylan Beattie for an hour of tech chat, a sneak preview of NDC Oslo Online, and a chance to ask questions about the online format and how it&#x27;s all going to work.We&#x27;re also inviting some of the great speakers who will be appearing at NDC Oslo to share what they&#x27;re working on. This week, Martine Dowden joins us to talk about web accessibility.Can You Read Me Now15% of the world’s population has some form of disability, but only very few of our websites are actually accessible. But what does that word mean anyway? Accessible?In this talk we will go over what accessibility means in the context of web content and how to get your team started in making sure your content can be accessed by all.About Martine Dowden Focusing on web interfaces that are beautiful, functional, accessible, and usable. She approaches User Experience from both Art and Science, drawing from her degrees in Psychology and Visual Communications. Martine has worked as an artist, educator, and consultant since 2005. She stays active in the industry, teaching developers at a coding academy, attending and speaking at conferences and meetups. In 2015 Martine published a children&#x27;s book &quot;Programming Languages ABC++&quot;, and in 2016 the Workbook Edition sold over 20,000 copies. She then went on to write &quot;Approachable Accessibility: Planning for Success&quot; which was released in June 2019 and &quot;Architecting CSS: The Programmer’s Guide to Effective Stylesheets&quot; to be released next month.
