Industry Sessions: Editing with Mdhamiri á Nkemi

Join <a href="http://www.violetpictures.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Violet Pictures</a> for a LIVE online Industry Session on Editing with Mdhamiri á Nkemi (The Last Tree, Blue Story) This event is free and open to all in Kent's Creative SectorThis event is in partnership with <a href="https://www.screensouth.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Screen South's </a>Re-Focus which includes special follow up opportunities after attending the sessionAbout Violet PicturesAs a documentary distributor Violet Pictures represent a library of diverse films, including acclaimed titles such as Oscar-nominee Hoop Dreams, Emmy-winner After Tiller, SXSW-winner The Punk Syndrome. They help filmmakers devise impact campaigns and enjoy supporting new and established directors. Their next release is the fascinating Recorder: The Marion Stokes Project which is released on demand from the 24 July with their partners Cargo Film &amp; Releasing, Curzon Home Cinema and Mubi. With their educational partner the Kent Film Foundation they have had the pleasure of training and developing the next generation of Kent-based filmmakers over the last three years running a series of workshops and screenings. Since 2018 they have developed ad run the Folkestone Harbour Screen's Young Film Programmers group with support from Film Hub South East and they also host and programme the popular monthly documentary club at the Folkestone Quarterhouse.About Mdhamiri á NkemiMdhamiri á Nkemi, Screen Star of Tomorrow 2019, is a filmmaker graduated from the NFTS, where he received the Toledo Scholarship and was awarded the year’s Most Promising Student Award. As an editor, he has worked on films that have been Academy and BAFTA longlisted, BIFA winning (The Last Tree) and awarded (Blue Story: NME Best Film &amp; Best Actor, The Devil’s Harmony: Sundance Jury Prize for Best International Short, Facing It: Animage Grand Prix &amp; Audience Awards; Circle: IDA Student Documentary Award, CIFF Best Short). Represented by Casarotto Ramsay &amp; Associates in the UK, and ICM in the US, he has cut several feature-length dramas, as well as a high-end TV series and numerous fiction, documentary and animation shorts, premiering and winning awards at festivals such as Sundance, Berlinale, TIFF, SXSW and the London Film Festival
