Hey, I'm Fi (aka The Ed Psych Coach)I'm a Chartered Coaching Psychologist and Senior Educational Psychologist (EP). I'm also a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers.It is my mission to create positive, inspiring spaces for EPs to grow, connect and flourish, so that we can really make a difference.Through my work with EPs across coaching groups, workshops and CPD events, as well as my 1:1 coaching services and resources, I am supporting EPs to flourish. A one-day online introduction and refresher course, exploring the spirit, tasks and skills involved in MI, with interactive skills practice

There is growing interest in using Motivational Interviewing (MI) across all areas of EP practice. In this one-day online introduction and refresher course, Cathy Atkinson and Fi Coley, members of the international Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) will offer a lively, informative and interactive opportunity to explore how to use MI in daily practice. The day will include:<ul><li>An outline of the theoretical and research background to MI</li><li>Consideration of the spirit, tasks and skills involved in MI</li><li>Experiential work, to develop skills and confidence</li><li>Guidance on the application of MI to EP practice</li></ul> The aim of the day will be to allow participants to immediately feel more confident in using MI within different aspects of their EP work. This event is open to Educational Psychologists, Trainee Educational Psychologists, and Assistant Psychologists. We are unable to accommodate aspiring EPs at this event. We are building an MI learning community for EPs.
