<h3>SHS Online Events - Welfare, Humanitarianism &amp; Social Action</h3><h3>Panel 2 - International History</h3><h3>Fri 26 June, 2 - 3.30 pm</h3><p>In lieu of our cancelled conference, we are hosting a series of online events between 22 June and 3 July to celebrate and enhance our community of scholarship. Each panel will include a range of speakers, giving ten minute presentations on work in progress.</p><p>This video-conferencing panel showcases work on the theme of Welfare, Humanitarianism &amp; Social Action. </p><p>Chaired by George Gosling, featuring:</p><ul><li>Henrice Altink - How can social history help address the impact of Covid in the Global South?: a case study of child malnutrition in Jamaica</li></ul><ul><li>Sudhi Mandloi - Dalits as a Minority:  Resistance and Claims for Citizenship Rights in Twentieth Century India</li></ul><ul><li>Andrew Searle - The Invention of Torture: The making of United Nations Resolution 3452, &quot;Declaration on Torture&quot;</li></ul><p>The Welfare, Humanitarianism &amp; Social Action strand is running two panels (this International History panel at 2 pm and a British History Panel at 12 noon), please register for each separately.</p><p>Bookings close at midnight the night before each panel and you will receive a meeting link on the day.</p>
