BasildON Creative People and Places is a 5 year programme of creative activities driven by local people. Led by and delivered for local residents, the programme seeks to challenge traditional notions of ‘art and culture’ – who makes it, where it is made and who it is for. We believe that art and culture is for everyone. Creative Basildon aims to develop events and experiences that celebrate Basildon and its communities across its five towns.

Live Across Wickford is nearly here! Join us for some exciting craft workshops and performances from wonderful local musicians at a series of venues across Wickford.

Live Across Wickford is a project commissioned by Creative Basildon. The project includes a series of creative workshops that celebrate community and co-production, using music as a tool to bring people together and encourage them to get involved in the arts, culminating in a celebration event, featuring live music, art created by the community and interactive workshops.Join us at the cosy Posh Boys Bar for an evening of acoustic live music from Genevive Johnson and give painting a go with a drop-in sip &amp; paint workshop from Aswin Thomas John and take away your own mini canvas. About Aswin Thomas John Aswin Thomas John is an interdisciplinary artist exploring the human condition through themes of identity, mental health, trauma, and social justice. Utilizing photography, serigraph, RISO printing installation digital media etc, his work integrates documentary and conceptual elements to create immersive spaces that capture resilience and belonging. Currently pursuing an MFA at the Royal College of Art, he shares his journey on instagram at @aswin_thomas_john. About Genevieve Johnson Genevieve Johnson is a singer/songwriter and guitarist
